Being professionally trained sends out a positive message to our customers and provides them with reassurance that all our company operatives are suitable for the job in hand. OPUS Midlands Ltd in committed to training its operatives to CISRS standards from Trainee Scaffolders to fully qualified Scaffolders.
Courses
Our internal apprenticeship program offers a Construction Operative Training Scheme (COTS) course to all new employees as part of their career development plan. Each year we produce sixteen Part 1 Scaffolders and twelve Part 2 Scaffolders through the National Construction College in Birmingham.
We take the same approach to training our management team and currently have three scaffolding inspectors with a broad scope of management experience and Health & Safety qualifications. These range from Degrees in Construction Management through to HNC’s, SMSTS, SSSTS, IOSH, PTTLS, PRINCE 2 and FIRST AID. We also keep up to date on industry best practices through our assessed membership with the Scaffolding Association.

Our Scaffolding inspectors carry out thorough inspections on their weekly site visits to ensure compliance with the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 and Work at Height Regulations 2005.
We also provide advice on internal fall protection devices and have trained operatives to install soft landing systems or if required, supply and fit Crash Deck / Bird Cage Scaffolding that complies with TG20:21.
